Gayle, 26, from Hammersmith, entered league soccer with Brentford after originally joining them as a trainee. He made 118 appearances for the west Londoners and gained a cap as a forward for England youth. He joined Wimbledon for �250,000 in March 1994, slotting into an attacking midfield role. He scored three goals in the 1994-95 season. Gayle has now started playing frequently for the Dons, and is beginning to find the net with more regularity. |
